‘Tis the season of giving! Our biggest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner.

GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity with the goal to transform communities around the world. Nonprofits and small businesses participate in GivingTuesday every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to raise awareness and money for their organization.

This year, we are raising funds to help support the development of our new dock. We currently share a dock with two other clubs, the Virginia Boat Club (VBC) and VCU Crew Club, so as you can imagine it gets pretty crowded. Another issue with our current dock setup is that it is only accessible by stairs, which is impossible in a wheelchair. In order for our adaptive athletes to safely get on the water, we have a 300lb removable ramp that we set up for the duration of practice, between our dock and our neighbor’s. Accessibility is a top priority in planning for our new dock, which will have a ramp as opposed to stairs.

While hiring an architect for our dock effort is our main goal, every little bit goes a long way! In the image to the right, you’ll find a breakdown of how every contribution helps support our staff, athletes, and community!

We will begin our GivingTuesday fundraiser on November 23rd through our Facebook page. Facebook will match ALL donations so 100% of your donation will go towards our athletes, programming, dock initiative, and coaching staff.
