COVID-19: Changing the Swing of Things

It goes without saying that programming is going to look a little different this upcoming fall. As much as we love big boats and large numbers, the safety of our community is our highest priority. We have concocted a plan that allows us to get athletes out on the water, without putting anyone in harm’s way.

This fall we will be featuring singles only, with the exception of roommates and siblings (who will be allowed in doubles, two person shells). Masks will be required on land, aside from use of the ergs at a distance of 6 feet or greater. We will also have equipment cleaning procedures set in place, restricted boathouse capacity, a ban on indoor training, and proper distancing during unmasked exercise.

Despite all of the change and new regulations, we are just thankful that we are able to get people out on the water. Being active and getting outside are great ways to combat the cabin fever brought on by quarantining inside all day.

We are very much looking forward to getting outside and on the water this fall!
